Insanity. But always in a good way.
Kids running, running, gotta get there, gotta play hard, gotta play fast. Oh, look there is the trampoline, gotta jump, gotta jump high and gotta jump hard. Ouch, I busted my lip. I don't want to get down, you can't make me get down. Ok, I'll get down and you take me to my dad and I'll show him my bloody lip. Look dad, I have a bloody lip, I'm a real man now, gotta get back.
The swing set, that's cool, gotta sing on it, gotta swing high and hard. Let's climb to the top because that's really high. Now down the slide, WEEEEEEEE, that was cool, let's do that again. But I want to climb up the slide and I can't with my flip flops on. Here dad take these, they are a pain, stupid shoes, let me go shoeless like Tom Sawyer, he was cool, I'm cool, I want to go rafting. Where did my shoes go?
Oh, what's that over there? That's rabbits. Hey dad, hey dad, hey dad, hey dad. HEY DAD! LOOOK!!!! There are rabbits over here!!! Hey DAD! RABBITS! RIGHT HERE! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!
Gotta go potty, where is the potty, hey someone take me potty. I gotta go over here! You there, tall guy, you look like a dad, take me to the potty before I ruin this carpet. Ya know, I don't really care one way or another. But I gotta go, now are you going to take me?
Now I'm dancing, because dancing is cool. Look Dad, I'm doing the Charleston. See dad, see dad, see dad, PAY ATTENTION TO ME! I'm dancing. Hey, now everyone dance, see we're all dancing. And we're next to the kiddie pool. Can I get in? Please dad? Can I please get in? I'm going to get in. What you mean no! That's not right, I want to get in the pool, let me in the pool, I don't need my dress on, here, let me take it off. Let go of ME! NO! I WANT TO GO IN THE POOL! Put me down. I swear I'll kick you in the junk! Put me down! I don't want to get in the car, I don't want to go home.
I'm tired.
Daddy, have you seen where my underwear is?

Playgroup, June 3
What does around 20 dads and kids do to a house? Take a gander and show respect for the awesome destruction that our children can create. Shock and awe baby, shock and awe.

How did 20 people eat with 4 chairs? It's the whole feed a thousand people with one fish kind of thing. I can't explain it, you have to take it on faith. That's right, just like Jesus.

8 pizza's, 1 full box of Mac N Cheese, 1 carton to strawberries, 3 pounds of grapes and 21 juice boxes. And this is all that is left.

And they huffed and the puffed, and they tore the ever loving shit out of the cardboard house.

Keep in mind that this is AFTER pickup. Also the scene of the famous "NO! It MINE! MINE! MINE!
Just for a recap, as you can tell, we had a great turnout. Now that summer is here some of the preschool kids are getting back into the swing of things which is always awesome. All dads were promptly able to ignore thier children and talk about important things, like the KC Royals and LOST.

Playgroup, April
We had two new members today. So the rest of us decided that we would be on our best behavior so as not to freak anyone out. So naturally we began to talk about Marilyn Chambers and how she passed away this week. She will be missed but her movies will last forever.
Playgroups are getting large. We had around 12 dads and close to 20 kids. Chaos ruled. They split up into little camps and plotted doom against all comers. The posted guards, held top secret meetings in the tent of silence and then laid on the floor while we cleaned up the carnage that they had created.
Talk is circulating about having playgroups 2 days a week again with the second day to focus on some sort of activity like a park or Deana Rose Farms. Because we are not happy with just unleashing the minions on eachother, we have to unleash them on the world.
Again there were minimal fights which must show how awesome dads are at raising thier kids. Instead of punches being thrown they all calmly sat down and talked about the best way to share their toy. The conclusion was "GIVE IT TO ME, IT'S MINE!" in which the most aggressive kid won and then hauled ass away from the rest of the group. We love it when the children work problems out on their own.

Playgroup: April 8
Our playgroups seem to be getting larger and larger. Which is a good thing because it just reaffirms our awesomeness. The kids were bouncing around from dad to dad. Until the Ladies man gets there.
It's the same every time. As soon as the Ladies man shows up, all the little girls ditch thier dad and go hang out with him. He can be seen going throughout the house with a toddler hanging on one leg and his own daughter in the croock of his arm. This is not a bad thing, not at all. However, we should probably keep the wives away from him. He's dreamy.
3 new members made their second appearance and they seem to mesh well with the group. Cute kids, the kind you might find on a box of cereal or a soup can selling the rich goodness right inside. I always like seeing new members and seeing the revolution continue. Viva La SAHD! See world, we are not weird! We are not "different." We are men. And we do laundry. Poorly it would seem, but we still do it.
Because we all agreed that our wives mostly have a problem with the way we do laundry. Look, there is colored clothes and white clothes. There are no such things as "delicate" or "hand wash only" Pile A of clothes is what goes in the washer. Pile B is what goes in the washer after Pile A is done.
We also had a brand new member that showed up for the first time so we were all on our best behavior. He was entertained by the comedic stylings of the Hippie and the Texan who seem to make a really good team. Like Laural and Hardy. I'm the fat one. But still handsome.
Our host went all out on lunch and actually made hotdogs and hamburgers. Show off. All in all, it was good times. No injuries, minimal fights but no blood. That's a victory in our book.

Playgroup Recap: April 1st
Good playgroup. Topics discussed where Amish Friendship bread, video games, hookers, best recipes, selling a house and me bragging on my kid not needing diapers anymore at night. She's awesome, it runs in the family. She also is wearing pants that are to small so she continues to show ass crack wherever we go.
One minor incident were there was a shopping cart involved and the face of another kid. But don't worry, we were all watching it happen but doing nothing to prevent it. Some of the Mom's may not let us play together anymore. But everything go resolved and I am assured that insurance will cover any damages.
The Enforcer did bring the friendship bread though and ingredintes for making it. The two loafs lasted about 30 minutes. Because it tastes like sweet heaven frolicking in your mouth. He assures me that he will post the recipe soon although I'm a little concerned that the recipe is for actually making toilet wine because you have to let the dough ferment for 10 days.
And of course, like every play group, all the girls had to play with one dad. The Ladies Man continues to have a monopoly on the 3 year old and under crowd. They love him and no one knows why. I think my daughter has a crush on him because she doesn't hug any one but she can't get enough of him. The day ended with a tickle fight with the Ladies Man and we destroyed his house. All is right with the world.

Rebel Playgroup: The Firehouse
Location: Liberty Firestation
Cost: Free
Ages: 1 and up.
Our leader set up a visit with the Liberty Fire Station. I must say, this was awesome. This was awesome for everyone. The kids loved it, the fire fighters loved showing off, and I'll admit--the Dad's loved it. And why not? Big ass trucks, ambulances and hanging out with some dudes that do the remarkable.
First off, the fire fighters were not only gracious, but seemed to really enjoy showing the kids around. I think that they got a kick out of it. Of course who wouldn't? "Look around kids, look at how much I kick ass. Yup, that's a huge ax that I actually get to knock crap down with. And this is my big truck. It kicks equal ass."
I'm not afraid to admit it, I had a little bit of a man crush going on.
This was a free activity that we had a really good turn out from and I would love to do it again next year.
The fire fighters started the tour by showing us the trucks and the ambulance. The Leader's kid loved this almost more than anyone because he appears to have an encyclopedic knowledge of firetrucks. This was evident when he started to correct the firefighters. Nothing is quite as cool when your kid tells the firefighter what's up. Where did he get this from?
From his dad, of course.
During the tour the fire fighters showed us an antique fire engine. I asked when was it last in use, because I'm a bit of a history nut. The fire fighter responded by saying the 1950's.
"Nope, that's wrong." I swear to you, those where his exact words. The Leader then went on to explain that they were in use up to the 1970's. Needless to say, this is a family that spends a lot of time studying everything that has to do with firetrucks.
The Fire fighter's were cool though and let the kids climb all around the fire engine and the ambulance, which had to go out on a call when we where there. Very cool, although I suppose not for the people it was going for but the kids loved the sirens.
We ended by giving the fire fighters our phone numbers, ya know, because they are cool.

Meltdowns were in water today
I don't know what the deal was today but it seemed like every child at playgroup drank meltdown milk for breakfast. A few meltdowns are expected but today was far worse than normal. The worst part was they were all over minor things. Now I understand minor to me and minor to a three year old are different but the usual meltdowns are over being told "no" or not getting to play with a certain toy.
Today we had new categories open up like the "I want something to hook to this truck" nevermind that he didn't know if there was anything that hooked to said truck he just wanted something to hook to it.
Another good one was the "I want to sit by my sister" now it has been my experience that most kids want to be as far from their siblings as possible so this one definitely through us all for a loop.
There were many others which led us all to believe that the best thing to do was to let the wives cook dinner and put the kids to bed while we filled out our brackets for March Madness.

Rebel Playgroup: Friday, March 13
Location: Debbie Howard's Gym.
Cost: 5 bucks per kid, parents free.
Appropriate ages: Kids 14 months and up--basically they need to be walkers to enjoy this.
Kids nap factor for after activity: Extremly high, most didn't make it from the parking lot before they were snoozing in thier car seat.
This was a great idea for a rebel group and one we might want to do again in the future. Basically, it's a gymnastics place that holds an open gym decently often. They had most of the gymnastic equipment you would expect (pommel horse, bars, etc) but also a ton of stuff just for kids. For the record: the iron cross is not humanly possible by a man who has two kids. The pommel horse though seems to be a great alternitive to a vascetomy.
There were all kinds of vehicles and balls that the kids could play around in. I taught my son how to dunk a basketball, hang from the rim, and then scream in triumph. And of course, a ton of slops, hills balance beams to climb. Even my 1 year old son, who never seems to leave my side, ditched me after about 10 minutes. There was a huge monkey climb thing that was about 2 stories high that the older kids could climb in and out of. We were taking bets and which father would get stuck up there first.
But the best attraction by far was the 20 yard trampoline run that ended in a big pit of foam. Every kid of every age loved the hell out of this and spent most other their time running down the trampoline runway to launch themselves without abandon into the unknown pit. An important note here: the foam pit is great for 4 year olds weighing under 50 pounds. However, 200 pound fathers find it very, very hard to climb out of this pit and I am sure there are wallets and car keys scattered on the bottom. One of our fathers termed it going "ass over head" as the best way to get out. He landed on his back and I cracked a rib laughing so hard. He just laid there a minute until his 1 year old son came to check on him. That should tell you something about this place: when your child has to check to see if you are hurt.
I think we had 4 members and 6 kids that showed up, not bad for a rebel. Staff was nice, facility was nice and the fact that one of our kids actually ASKED to take a nap at the end of the day, that was just icing on the cake.
